This is a super cute rhyming, COUNTING book that will delight your child.

There are 10 animals that all fit onto Caribou's sled that is racing down the hill.

The assortment of animals is hilarious in itself. Polar Bear? Bunny? Seal? Sheep? Sure, why not?

On the sled or off the sled, each of the 10 animals is on every page, so children can follow their favourite animal throughout the story.

The story gradually counts down from 10 on the sled to just one on the sled.

Illustrations

The illustrations are created using watercolor, colored pencil and pastel.

The animals have various items of winter clothing on and use their front paws as arms.

The mixture of fear and excitement on the faces of each animal is hilarious and worth pointing out!

Educational Value

There are between 5 and 20 words per page.

The text color of each number is different (There were five on the sled...) which helps highlight the word for each number from one to ten.

Aside from the rhyming cadence of the book and the counting, this book highlights friendship and working together.

When an animal falls off the sled, watch for alliteration each time (e.g. squirrel squeezed out, walrus whirled out, fox flipped out).
